EAGLE NEWS

President's Note

Hello Evergreen Families!

Welcome back, I hope everyone had a fun summer and the children are ready for a new school year.

My name is Sarah Werner-Ellis, and I will be your Evergreen PTA President for the 2023-2024 school year. I have one son, Briggs, who is in the 1st grade.

The PTA Executive Board and Committee Chairs were busy all summer planning new and exciting events for our students. We can’t do it alone though, please consider joining the PTA and get involved. To ensure that everyone has a great school year, we need your help. You can stay informed of upcoming PTA events and programs by attending our monthly PTA meetings, following us on Facebook, and reading our newsletter. Please join us for our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, September 26th at 6 pm (children welcome). The evening will also include a family fun night at 6:30 pm with Bricks4Kidz.

Together we CAN do a lot.

Thank you,

Sarah Werner-Ellis

THANK YOU to our Community Business Sponsor-Beauty Awakened Med Spa

We want to thank our first community business sponsor- Beauty Awakened Med Spa in Midlothian. Dr. Brandon and her team sponsored the staff breakfast on Monday morning before their first staff meeting of the year. They also sponsored a raffle for treatments and products; six of our staff members were lucky enough to win.

Any individual or family joining before September 15th will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Amazon Gift Card, and the class to get to 100% participation before that date (both teacher and ALL student families) will win a pizza party. School Grounds Beautification Committee

Hello.  I  am Heather Urso, the School Grounds Beautification Committee Chair and mother to a first grader, Mackenzie! I am very excited to be the chair and working with you all on improving Evergreen Elementary School. I have already had my first meeting with PTA President, Sarah Werner-Ellis to discuss our visions for the grounds and working to revamp the Evergreen Community Garden. I will have an update for the next newsletter on our vision, tasks, timetables and need for volunteers! If you have any questions or feedback please email me at heather.j.urso@gmail.com. Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed

Evergreen Elementary PTA plans many educational and social events for the children throughout the school year.  The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school. We know that parents today juggle very busy schedules and the Evergreen Elementary PTA strives to offer many opportunities in ways each of you can help.

Please click here to review the brief descriptions of each volunteer area and indicate your preliminary interests. Your contact information will then be forwarded to the PTA board member or committee chair that is pulling together that activity and they will be in touch with you.

Thanks for volunteering!

August/September Cafeteria Volunteers

Volunteers are needed during the lunch times for each grade at Evergreen. Helping during lunch includes assisting the kids open packages, getting condiments/napkins or simply answering questions. Volunteering in this way really helps the teachers be able to have an actual lunch break. You can sign up for your child’s grade and stay to help out other grades if you would like! It is a very flexible volunteer opportunity! You simply check in at the front office as usual, and then grab a volunteer apron and start helping out the kids!

Please click here to sign up.

We look forward to seeing you at lunchtime!

Thanks for volunteering!
