President's Note

Hello Evergreen Families!

I hope everyone is having a great fall. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our September PTA meeting and Bricks4Kidz STEM Family Fun night. We also want to thank our volunteers who have supported our students and staff already this year. If you are interested in getting involved and don’t know where to start, please reach out and we will help you find a good fit. There is always an opportunity to help out.  Don’t forget, it isn’t too late to join the PTA. For just $7 (individual) or $14 (family), you can make a difference for your child and the children at Evergreen. Please join us for our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, October 24th at 6 pm (children welcome). The evening will include an informational presentation and a question/answer period with our School Board Representative, Dot Heffron.

Together we CAN do a lot.

Our Papa John's Teacher "Takeover" Night is Approaching

On October 4, 2023, our Evergreen staff members will take over Papa John's!

Here's how you can participate:

1. Place a delivery order: We have 6 delivery teams who will hit the road delivering pizza to Evergreen families. Don't see your child's teacher? No worries! You can still place a delivery order and one of these friendly faces will bring dinner to your doorstep.

2. Pick up your order: Evergreen staff will pass out pizza at the Papa John's storefront on Midlothian in the Ivymont Square Shopping Center. Place a pickup order and say hello to our staff!

Either way, Evergreen teachers will earn 20% from all orders and 100% of all tips!

Ordering opens soon, so prepare to help teachers take over Papa John's!

Join the EEPTA Membership for the 2023-24 School Year

For only $7 (or $14 for a family membership) you can help support the Evergreen Elementary PTA.

The EEPTA serves as a forum where parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and other concerned adults discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods. Becoming a member of the PTA shows that you want to help support the programs and events that help enhance students' experiences at our school. It does not obligate you to attend the PTA meetings or volunteer. While we would love for everyone to attend, we understand families are busy during the school year and have other important commitments. Minutes are available and posted online for you to review. However, attending meetings and volunteering at any of the several PTA sponsored events provide opportunities to meet other parents. Always feel free to contact us if you have any ideas, suggestions, or comments.

For membership questions please reach out to our membership chair at membership@eepta.com.

Please Join Us At Our Monthly EEPTA Meetings

Our PTA believes that families are one of the essential ingredients we need to ensure a high-quality education and experience for every student at Evergreen Elementary. That is why this year, we are bringing back in-person PTA meetings, and to make our meetings more engaging, we are aligning each monthly meeting with a family-friendly program, guest speaker, or school event. We want everyone to feel welcome and be able to attend these important meetings and events. Children are welcome to attend, and we will have games, books, and other items to help entertain them; however, we ask that parents/guardians remain responsible for their children in attendance. Remember… ALL parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend monthly PTA meetings. You do not need to be a PTA member to attend a meeting, but we hope you will become a PTA member because increased membership will help us to build a stronger Evergreen Elementary Community. Below is a list of our meetings for this school year.

We hope to see you!

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed

Evergreen Elementary PTA plans many educational and social events for the children throughout the school year.  The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school. We know that parents today juggle very busy schedules and the Evergreen Elementary PTA strives to offer many opportunities in ways each of you can help.

Please click here to review the brief descriptions of each volunteer area and indicate your preliminary interests. Your contact information will then be forwarded to the PTA board member or committee chair that is pulling together that activity and they will be in touch with you.

Thanks for volunteering!

Watch D.O.G.S. is Back!

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is back. This year there has also been a change to include Watch M.O.M.S (Moms of Marvelous Students).  We would like to invite our dads, moms, granddads, grandmoms, uncles, aunts and other role models of our students to join us and volunteer to spend a half day here at Evergreen. Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)  and Watch M.O.M.S (Moms of Marvelous Students) is a National program designed to get positive role models to volunteer in the school ONE DAY a year in order to inspire child(ren) in our school. ONE DAY is all it takes to make a huge difference. But we're pretty sure you'll enjoy yourself so much you'll be ready to sign up more than once.

Our Watch D.O.G.S. Cookie Kick Off event will be Oct.11th from 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM.  Please join us if you would like to hear more information about the program. Please CLICK HERE to RSVP if you intend on joining us for the kick off event.

October Cafeteria Volunteers

Volunteers are needed during the lunch times for each grade at Evergreen. Helping during lunch includes assisting the kids open packages, getting condiments/napkins or simply answering questions. Volunteering in this way really helps the teachers be able to have an actual lunch break. You can sign up for your child’s grade and stay to help out other grades if you would like! It is a very flexible volunteer opportunity! You simply check in at the front office as usual, and then grab a volunteer apron and start helping out the kids!

Please click here to sign up.

We look forward to seeing you at lunchtime!

Thanks for volunteering!
