As of 5 Weeks in, our students have run over 675 miles at Mileage Club! Don't know what Mileage Club is? It's a great way for students to get some exercise in and at the end of the year, the 3 boys/girls from each grade with the most miles (16 best days all year) and the top 3 overall will be recognized! THANK YOU, Evergreen Families, for your continued donations to help stock our Food Pantry. The Evergreen Food Pantry is still in need of some items to help us be able to provide meals to our families in need over the longer breaks we have coming over the next couple months.  On Friday, November 5th your student may wear their favorite hat to help support the Evergreen Food Pantry by donating a much needed item to the pantry. The items we are in need of the most are cereals/breakfast bars/oatmeal, vegetables, pastas and sauce, macaroni/ramen, canned tuna and chicken, soups, canned raviolis/spaghetti and any other quick meals.

It’s time to update your family information in the EEPTA database. Updating your information is simple. Simply log in to www.EEPTA.com and a blue “Notice” should appear under the banner. Simply click where it says “Please take a moment and review it here”. You will then be prompted to update your contact information, student information (aka 2021-2022 Teacher Assignment and/or addition of any new students), and your directory preferences. Fall is here and that means it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving!  To benefit our families, each year we assemble a hoiday meal bag that includes non-perishable items as well as a $15 gift card to a grocery store to purchase perishable items.  We are asking for volunteers to donate either an assembled bag or a gift card.  Please click here to view the list of items included in the meal bag and to sign up to donate.  Please deliver your items to the front office between November 16th and 18th so we can send them home between November 19th and 23rd.  Thank you all in advance for your support and generosity.  

Thank you to all of you who have been volunteering during lunch time for the past several weeks. It is truly appreciated by both the EES staff and students. Your help allows the teachers be able to have a lunch and allows each grade's lunch to flow smoothly. The students are not allowed to get up and walk around, so having an adult to bring them items or help them open a package is extremely helpful! In order to space out the children in the cafeteria, some classes will rotate eating lunch in the EES atrium. If the cafeteria has enough volunteers on a given day, you are welcome to ask if assistance is needed in the atrium.

Room Parent are still needed for a few of our Kindergarten, 1st, and 4th grade teachers.  The primary job of the Room Parent is to email parents about the needs of the teacher.  No meeting attendance required.  If interested, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Ann Long.

Evergreen Elementary PTA plans many educational and social events for the children throughout the school year.  The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school. We know that parents today juggle very busy schedules and the Evergreen Elementary PTA strives to offer many opportunities in ways each of you can help.

The EEPTA Still Needs Committee Chairs:

The PTA is currently seeking Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs and Committee members for the 2021-22 school year. 

Committee Chairs and/or Co-Chairs are needed for the following committees:

• After School Enrichment (Spring 2022)
• 5th Grade Reception
• Barnes and Noble
• Reflections (Co-chair needed to work with the current chair and then transition to chair for the 2022-23 school year.  This is a nation-wide PTA program)

We are also seeking 2-3 volunteers to join the Spring Festival Planning Committee.

Our next Noodles & Co Spirit Night will be on November 11th from 4-8pm at the Alverser Rd. location. Order online or in person! Be sure to tell them you are with Evergreen!  A percentage of all sales comes right back to EES!

Order all day at any of the RVA PAPA JOHN'S locations for carryout or delivery between November 16th - 18th and 10% of your order will be donated back to the school. Just let them know you are an EES family on the phone or order online at papajohns.com and type in EVERGREEN in the PROMO code box. We are still trying to get as many orders as we can for our Dollars for Dough competition, where we have a chance to win up to 10,000$!! All orders will also count towards the Papa Johns D4D contest (250 orders using our school code are required by the end of May 2022 for us to qualify for a chance to win). For the 2020-21 D4D contest we won $1000! Help us win more this year.

Families will have the opportunity to order a fully cooked meal that is ready to be reheated. These are professional chef prepared meals that are handmade, using fresh ingredients. The meals are never frozen and contain no additives. Each meal will serve a family of 4 and you will get to select from several options. Keep an eye open for the order link on our EEPTA fb page, coming in mid November. If you would like to treat a teacher or any staff member to a delicious meal, you will be able to do so. We will pick up the staff meals and deliver them to EES.
